This website was designed to provide information about our organization and to help our members stay connected. Since 1930, The Junior League of York has been an innovative, dynamic women's organization of trained volunteers dedicated to improving our ever-changing community, promoting voluntarism and developing leadership. With nearly 300 members, the Junior League of York continues to make significant contributions to the community through diverse fundraising and volunteer efforts.

The Junior League of York Partners with Huggies

The Junior League of York will participate in Kimberly-Clark's Huggies Every Little Bottom program, which will donate more than 22.5 million diapers to babies and moms in need in North American during 2011. The Diaper Drive will take place October 24, 2011 through May 31, 2012. All diapers collected will be distributed through York County's Diaper Bank, the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. After May 31, diapers will continue to be collected and distributed through the Diaper Bank.

The Junior League of York is just one of the 26 participating Junior Leagues hosting Diaper Drives across the country. JLY members throughout York County will be conducting Diaper Drives in their place of business in addition to working with programs and groups such as area churches and the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.

"We are pleased to support this important and innovative initiative," Jane Boyle, President of the Junior League of York, said, adding, "Helping women and children has been at the core of the Junior League mission since its inception more than 80 years ago."

Huggies Every Little Bottom program started with a groundbreaking study, commissioned in 2010, revealing that one in three American mothers and one in five Canadian mothers struggle to provide diapers for their babies. These mothers have had to cut back on basics such as food, utilities like heat or electricity, or even child care in order to provide enough diapers.

For more information about how your group can get involved in the Junior League of York's Diaper Drive please contact the Junior League of York office at (717) 845-3041.
