Junior League of York Announces September Toy Sale to Benefit the Community

YORK, Pa. – The Junior League of York Thrift Shop, located at 166 W. Market St., will hold a Toy Sale offering gently used and new toys at an affordable price to local families from Sept. 9 to 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The sale is a sneak preview to the Junior League’s annual Holiday Toy Sale which has made affordable toys available to the York community for the past 41 years. All of the proceeds from both Toy Sales benefit the York community by helping to fund several Junior League community initiatives throughout the year.

Available toys will constantly change during the sale and members of the community are encouraged to visit the Thrift Shop at 166 W. Market St. throughout the entire week of the sale to make sure they see the full array of rotating toys available.

Members of the community interested in donating new or gently used toys can bring them to the Junior League of York Thrift Shop during normal business hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or call 717-843-7692 to arrange a donation pickup. All donations are tax deductable.

The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Over the past 80 years, the League’s 150 members have raised 1.4 million dollars and donated thousands of volunteer hours to the York community. The Junior League’s purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. To learn more about the Junior League of York, visit www.jlyork.org.
